Abby Regacho
PRESIDENT
Hello hello!! I'm Abby Regacho, your president this year!! It is my senior year in Neurobiology and Physiology on the pre-med track. I joined PFA because of my passion for my Filipino culture that was an aspect of my life that I lacked when I moved from the Philippines to Evansville, Indiana. I'm so glad to have found my people in my Filipino community at Purdue. I'm so glad I get the opportunity to aid our members in grow in knowledge and experiences with regards to the Filipino culture. I love my PFAm and enjoy all the silly antics we have together. Outside of PFA, I am probably studying to be your future neurosurgeon, working out, shopping, going on a walk, or getting boba. I'm so excited for this year and I hope it is Purdue Filipino Association's best year yet!
Vladimir Condino (Right)
Co-VICE PRESIDENT - EXTERNAL
Hi!! My name is Vladimir Condino, like Vladimir putin… I’m currently the Co-VPE for PFA and a junior majoring physics! My hobbies include underwater ceramics technical work and a fun fact about me is that I can eat 2-3 cups of rice in one sitting! I joined PFA because I wanted to know more about my culture and meet new people with both similar and different experiences as me! Joining PFA has been one of the best decisions I made at purdue, it has introduced me to so many new things and people that I’ve never known before. If you’re reading this we’re best friends now and we’re gonna get soft tacos later :)
Marie Encarnado (Right)
Co-VICE PRESIDENT - External
Hi!! I'm Marie, Co-VPE this year. I'm a Junior majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Mathematics. I love fitness, especially lifting and cycling. A fun fact about me is that I've climbed a coconut tree :D I joined PFA because I missed the cultural and familial aspect I had at home, so I wanted to make lasting friendships through here. I can't wait for another year!
Benn Sesante
Vice president - Internal
Hello all! I'm Benn Sesante and I am your Vice President Internal this year. I will be in charge of anything pertaining Bahay Bahayan and the Ate / Kuya / Ading / Manang Manong system so please reach out to me if you have any questions! I am currently a junior in Computer Science with a minor in Math. I've been a part of PFA since my freshman year and became active due to my lineage's strong presence in inviting me out, making sure I attend every PFA event. The AKA system is a huge part of why I became an active member in PFA while also giving me some of my favorite memories in college. I hope AKA / BB can do the same for you too!
Trinity Miranda
CO-SECRETARY - Media manager
Hi! I’m Trinity Miranda. I am the Media Manager. I am a sophomore in Exploratory Studies (probably Marketing, hopefully UX Design) minoring in Organizational Leadership. Some things I enjoy are photography, crochet, and cooking!
Mia Neff
Co-secretary - Administrative
Hellos! I’m Mia and I will be PFA’s Administrative Secretary this year! I am a Sophomore double majoring in Nutrition and Dietetics & Nutrition, Fitness and Health, as well as minoring in French. In my hometown, there was not really an active Filipino community, and so I was thrilled to see that Purdue had a Filipino Association. I joined my Freshman year and have loved attending all the events – especially PCN! – making connections with people of similar cultural backgrounds, and giving back to the association however possible. Outside of PFA, I enjoy hobbies like crochet, outdoor activities, photography, cooking and baking, as well as playing games like Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, and word games (especially Crossword Puzzles and Wordles)! Please don’t hesitate to reach out! :)
Mj Gonzales
Event Coordinator
Hi! I’m Mj Gonzales. I’m the event coordinator for PFA. Currently, I am a junior in Health and Disease minoring in chemistry and psychology. Fun fact, I don’t actually have a j in my name. My parents named me after my Lola and started calling me Mj like a junior because they thought Mercedes was too long. I joined PFA because I wanted to connect to other students who grew up with the Filipino-American culture. Back home, my family is not that active in the Filipino community, so I thought this would be a great way to learn and connect with other people on Filipino Culture!
Evan Wang
Treasurer
Hello, my name is Evan Wang, I am a senior in Electrical Engineering and the treasurer for PFA this year. I joined PFA my freshman year because of my girlfriend Joyce haha but didn't become really active until sophomore year. Throughout my time with PFA, PFA not only gave me a space to grow as a person but professionally as a leader as well. Please don't hesitate to reach if you have any questions for me about anything!
Tricia Sy
Cultural Chair
Hi everyone! My name is Tricia and I am your Cultural Chair for this year. I am a junior in Nursing and I am minoring in Psychology. I joined PFA because there wasn't a strong Filipino community in my hometown and I wanted to be around the culture that constantly inspires me! Through PFA, I love being able to share my culture with others and also learn more about it. In my free time, I like to thrift, explore new places, try new foods, and play the guitar.
Jovelle Garces (Center)
PCN Director
Hi I'm Jovelle and I am one of your current PCN directors! I'm currently a senior in electrical engineering. On my free time, I'm usually online gaming, working out, or trying out new recipes. I joined PFA because I wanted to become closer with my roots and learn more about my culture.
Dawn Monarca (Center)
PCN DIRECTOR
My name is Dawn Monarca & I'm one of the PCN Directors! I'm a senior majoring in MET & getting certificates in Entrepreneurship and Collaborative Leadership. I love to knit, make yarn out of plastic, and to onewheel! I joined PFA during my freshmen year to stay connected to the culture and create a home away from home.
Emily Reyes (Center)
PCN Director
Heya! My name is Emily Reyes and I am one of your PCN Directors for the 2023-2024 school year! I am a junior, double majoring in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Technology and minoring in Organizational Leadership. Some of my hobbies include working out (gym, martial arts, volleyball), cooking, and fangirling over Seventeen ;) I joined PFA because I was not exposed to Filipino culture growing up, and I wanted to get in touch with my heritage. My favorite thing about the org is definitely PCN (hence me being a director LOL), because it’s where I got to know a lot of the other members and made some of my closest friends in college! <3 I look forward to working with you all this year!!! Live, laugh, love, PCN
Phoenix Dimagiba
SENIOR ADVISOR
Hey all! I'm Phoenix Dimagiba, one of your Senior Advisors this year! My majors are Cybersecurity and Network Engineering Technology, and I'm from San Diego. When I'm not grinding out cybersecurity labs I enjoy swimming at the CoRec, cooking or baking for myself and my friends, and PC gaming at home. I joined PFA three years ago looking to engage with my culture and have fun with new people, and I can happily say that both of those things came true. I'm looking forward to one last year of memories with all of you! Hope to see everyone at events, and please contact myself and Alex for any senior advice you might require :))
Alexandria Montoya
Senior Advisor
Hii, I'm Alexandria! I'm currently a senior majoring in Electrical Engineering, and I'm this year's senior advisor for PFA. I've been in PFA ever since my freshman year, and I've held positions for both J-board and E-Board as our Secretary. I'd say my favorite thing that I've participated in while being in PFA has been my involvement in PCN in the acting committee with main roles for two years at PFA, and now I'm this year's acting committee head. I'd say I've been pretty active within PFA for almost my entire college career, and I'm really grateful with the friends I've made through PFA since joining this organization (:
Outside of school and PFA, my hobbies/interests include playing the piano (i'm classically trained and have been playing for about 13 years but am currently in a band to improve my improv skills! plus it's fun lol), playing 1v1 fighting games, and doing crossword puzzles. Even though I'm a senior and about to graduate, I'm always open to making new connections and friends, so don't be afraid to say hi <3
